The Star Wars saga, imagined by George Lucas in 1977, inspired not only a technological revolution with images and soundscapes never seen or heard before in movies, but also a rich mythology that fans rapidly absorbed, transforming it into a major and enduring pop culture phenomenon.

For the first time in France, as part of Disney's 100th anniversary celebrations, the Lumière film festival in Lyon is bringing the original trilogy (Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi), along with its prequel, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, to the big screen in fully restored digital prints.
