The Hangar at the Lumière Institute looked like an international summit on Thursday morning.

Albania, Afghanistan, Syria, Ukraine, Eritrea: many countries were represented at this meeting organised as part of the “Quinzaine de l'intégration”. This initiative involves integrating refugees into the festival's team of volunteers. Led in partnership with the Prefecture of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and the Lumière Institute, this operation has given 53 persons the opportunity to become volunteers. Among them, Hangama Roeen, 31, from Afghanistan, commented, "It's a wonderful experience to take part in the festival. You get to meet lots of people who are passionate about cinema and discover new films. Yesterday I went to a film concert for the first time - it was incredible!” Supported by numerous partner associations such as Forum Réfugiés, Passerelles Buissonnières and Langues comme Une, the new volunteers were also able to meet with the Adéquat group to help them find employment. "I'm taking French lessons and I'd like to work in Lyon as a copywriter," says Shakiba Nazari, a young Afghan with a degree in management and English literature. Adéquat, the employment partner of the project, is organising a job dating event on 8 November at the Tony Parker Academy to help volunteers find work. Welcome to Lyon!
