Jacob Holtzer High School at the festival

Accompanied by their teachers, Sandrine Charavy and Louis Brun, the students from Jacob Holtzer High School in Firminy, who are taking the "Super 8" film workshop, attended screenings of Twelve Monkeys by the hilarious Terry Gilliam, and Ray by Taylor Hackford.

"I loved the film presentations by Terry Gilliam and Taylor Hackford; it helped me understand their feelings and their vision of their works", explains Lola Coquisart, a sophomore student.  Her classmate, Timéo Maupetit, stated his favourite movie was Twelve Monkeys, commenting, "I loved the concept of this futuristic film set in an apocalyptic universe". Attending the festival for the second year in a row, Timéo has fond memories of "Tim Burton's surprise visit at the Batman screening". This year, 6,500 students will be attending the Lumière film festival in the framework of their school screenings. On the way home, Lola announces her new mission, "I'm going to be telling my friends about the festival when I get home!”
